The route begins in the locality of Olleros (30 km to the south of Huaraz), where the loads will be transported by Llamas during the passage.
Throughout the four days of long walk, besides to cross diverse natural places of great snow-covered beauty and to appreciate the Shaqsha (5.703), Cashan (5 686) and Tuctupunta (5 343), the travellers participate in the customs and traditions of the farmers of towns like Shongo (with its imposing sacred monoliths or “huancas”) and Nunupata.
The route finalizes in the spectacular archaeological Complex of Chavin de Huantar, important administrative and ceremonial center of the first panperuana pre-Columbian culture |

Road transfer to Huaraz / Transfer to hotel. |

Drive to Huaraz: we drive to the bus station for the 8-hour bus ride from Lima to Huaraz. Arrive Huaraz. we check into our hotel, then head for dinner. This is a long day of sitting but the views get more rewarding as the day goes by. Continental breakfast at the hotel and lunch on the bus is included. |

A day in Huaraz to acclimatize to the altitude. |

We have one day in Huaraz.
We will be organize all and preparation for Alpamayo expedition.
Day Hike to Acclimatize:
Breakfast included in the hotel.
Today we get an early start and hike up to macashca hill at 4000m. A beautiful place across from the cordillera blanca . It will be a long day of walking and one that will help get our legs stronger. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight spent in Huaraz. |
