Description of the Tour: pisco Mountain: Climbing, Hiking & Mountaineering

This mountain is considered ideal to adapt to the altitude at the time of facing a greater summit. In its approach by the gorge of Llanganuco they are passed by two beautiful lagoons, Chinancocha 3850 m. and Orconcocha 3863 m. Surrounded by most impressive mountains.
Its normal route which smoothly extends by the South edge the west and from its summit, can be enjoyed one of the most spectacular views of the White Mountain range, appreciating summits like the Huandoy 6395 m., Caraz de Paron 6025 m., Caraz of Santa Cruz 6020 m., Alpamayo 5947 m., Artesonraju 6025 m., Pyramid 5885 m., Chacraraju 6112 m., Yanapacha 5460 m., Chopicalqui 6345 m., Huascarán 6768 m. and others, which makes of the Made snow-white Pisco an almost forced itinerary stops each visitor.

Itinerary - Climbing in Peru: The best of the Cordillera Blanca (Below is an Itinerary in Brief.)
 
Day 01 Road transfer to Huaraz / Transfer to hotel.
    You will be met at the airport and transferred to the hotel in Lima.
Drive to Huaraz: we drive to the bus station for the 8-hour bus ride from Lima to Huaraz. Arrive Huaraz. we check into our hotel, then head for dinner. This is a long day of sitting but the views get more rewarding as the day goes by. Continental breakfast at the hotel and lunch on the bus is included. Welcome dinner is provided.
Day 02 In Huaraz for acclimation / Day hike to Lake Churup - Hotel.
    We have two days in Huaraz. Peruvian Summit Expedition organize all and preparation for Alpamayo expedition.
Day Hike to Acclimatize:
Breakfast included in the hotel.
Today we get an early start and hike up to Lake Churup at 4450m. This beautiful turquoise lake sits beneath the peaks with the same name. It will be a long day of walking and one that will help get our legs stronger. Lunch and dinner on your own. Overnight spent in Huaraz.
Day 03 Climbing Pisco / Huaraz - Base camp Cebollapampa 3900m. - Pisco Base Camp 4665m.
 
Day 04 Climbing Pisco / Pisco Base Camp 4600m. - Pisco Moraine camp 4900m.
     
Day 05 Climbing Pisco / Pisco Moraine camp – Summit Climbing Pisco 5752m. – Pisco Base Camp
     
Day 06 Climbing Pisco / Pisco Base Camp – Cebollapampa base camp - Huaraz.
     
Day 07 Return drive to Lima.

The tour cost includes:
  • Transfer Lima - Huaraz - Lima.
  • Qualified and experienced local guide/s UIAGM. (English and Spanish)
  • Additional guides and porters where necessary
  • Climbing permits - Huascaran National Park.

    Note for the traveler: We according to itinerary or travel program:
    • Bookings Bus tickets Lima - Huaraz - Lima.
    • Bookings of air tickets Lima - Huaraz - Lima.
    • Hotel Reservations lodgings or houses.
     
    Things that you need to bring or carry:...
    • Backpack.
    • Sleeping bag.
    • Rain jacket or poncho (plastic ponchos can be purchased in Huaraz for a few dollars).
    • Strong, comfortable footwear.
    • One complete change of clothing (you can afford to carry more changes of clothing if you hire a personal porters, see options below)
    • Sweater and jacket (something warm).
    • Water bottle, ideally non disposable canteen (boiled drinking water will be provided).
    • Torch / Flashlight and batteries.
    • Hat or cap to protect you from the sun.
    • Sun block (sun protection cream).
    • Insect repellent, absolutely the most important item for this hike is bug spray. Anything with a lot of DEET with do the job, anything less is simply not sufficient. Bug spray MUST be bought in Huaraz, as it cannot be found even in neighboring towns.
    • Toiletries, towel and toilet paper.
    • Selection of small snacks, chocolate, dried fruit, biscuits, energy bars etc.
    • Camera, plenty of film and spare batteries, cash in soles and US$
    • Swimsuit (if you plan on visiting the hot springs at Hunacarhuaz after the trek)
    • Optional: walking Poles /sticks rubber covers necessary (can be hired from our office for US$30 for the 15 day trek)
    • You also need to bring a copy of  your passport on the trail.
