Itinerary: Loreto - Iquitos - Amazon Actionn Expedition. (5d / 4n)
Day Arriving and reception.

You will be received at your choice of the airport or a hotel. Then we'll take you to the port, where we will take a speedboat that takes us to our destination in about four hours. On the trip we can observe and learn about the great Amazon River, the local flora and fauna and the environmental and social issues affecting the area. After navigating The Amazon we enter The Yanayacu River, where our Lodge is situated.
Amazon Action Yanayacu Lodge. You are welcomed with a freshly-made tropical juice drink. Then we will settle into the cabins. You will be given all the information you need about The Lodge And then we¨ll take lunch.
Botanical tour. - After lunch we go out, quietly walking around the lodge, so that you can have your first contact with the forest and to see exotic plants, as bromelias, orchids, heliconias, cat's
claw, rubber trees and many types of exotic fruits. We will also receive some lessons about virtues of the Amazon medicinal herbs and plants given to us by our guides and our residential homoeopath.
Night adventure. - After dinner we go out in canoes to have a night expedition through the jungle. We will hear the sound of the forest and we will observe different insects and animals that come out to hunt at night: fisher bats, lizards, caimans and night birds. Then we will return to the lodge to rest and sleep.

Day Birdwatching.

We get up before dawn to observe many diverse exotic birds, such as eagles, Amazon kingfishers, roadside hawks, among hundred of other species, all in their natural habitat. We can photograph them, while our guide teaches us about their habits and local names.
Wildlife expedition. - After breakfast we go into the forest to observe plants and animals. We can see giant trees (more than 100 feet high) and we have the opportunity to observe numerous species of local monkeys (as cappuccino or machín monkey, owl monkey, common squirrel monkey, dusky titi monkey). We can watch also other animals and a great variety of insects. After we return from the trail, it is lunch time.
Expedition by boat. – We left Yanayacu heading for Amazon River where we look for the Amazon dolphins: the gray dolphin (Sotalia fluviatilis) and the pink river dolphin (Inia geoffrensis). If the weather allows it, we can go ashore to one of the river banks to swim and to do some sunbathing.
Myths of the Amazon. - After dinner we sit down comfortably to chat and listen to stories and myths of the forest, with a warm light given by lamps. We also will hear stories about the life of the local communities. Optionally we can go out for a walk in the surroundings of the lodge, in the company of our guide.


Breakfast. .
Jungle trekking.We start a seven hour expedition to the deep forest near Yanayacu until arriving at one the many lagoons that exist in the Amazon. We can experience a total contact with nature and appreciate the great biodiversity of the jungle. On this trip we can see giant trees such as the Ceiba and the Cedar, among others; and we will be able to photograph the wildlife of the place, such as monkeys, birds, snakes, lizards and a seemingly infinite amount of insects. During the trip we will stop and have a picnic in the middle of the forest. We return to the lodge at dusk, where we will rest until dinner.


Trip by boat to Corrientes lagoon. We will see the water forest and many plant species as the Regis victory (more tha 1.5 mts. wide).
Fishing and sports. - After lunch we'll go to the river by boat to fish using canes, hooks and baits. It's common to fish piranhas, sardines, “boquichicos” (prochidolus nigricans) and other species. It is also possible to observe other animals such as the kingfisher, woodpecker, roadside hawks and different kinds of parrots. We will play sports like swimming and Kayak competitions (according to the guests preferences).
Return to the lodge.


Breakfast. Community tourism in San Juan de Yanayacu’s town, where we will know the life of the amazon communities, and we could buy handcrafts made by the mothers of the town.
Return to the city by speedboat (3-4 hours). Trasfer to the hotel or airport.
